Institute for Supply Management

PISM is a C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) allied member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) based in Arizona, USA. C.P.M. is the globally recognized designation leading purchasing professionals into a progressive career showing managerial, leadership and negotiating skills.

Founded in 1915, the Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) is the largest supply management association in the world as well as one of the most respected. ISM's mission is to lead the supply management profession through its standards of excellence, research, promotional activities, and education. ISM's membership base includes more than 45,000 supply management professionals with a network of domestic and international affiliated associations. International Federation for Purchasing & Supply Management

To update members on what is happening around the world, PISM became an affiliate of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) based in Netherlands.

Founded on May 13-14, 1974 at the Oxford and Cambridge Club, UK as the European Federation of Purchasing (EFP), IFPSM is a union of 42 National Purchasing Associations around the world. IFPSM aims to develop an effective, efficient and comprehensive network of member associations and co-ordinate their activity to achieve, where relevant, a multinational cooperative focus.

International Trade Center UNCTAD/WTO

In January 2001, PISM signed an MLS (Modular Learning System) agreement with the International Trade Centre as a commitment in providing training in International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management with practical, user-friendly and unique approach.

ITC is the focal point institution in the US system providing technical cooperation to developing countries and economies. It developed the MLS in cooperation with other partner organizations to provide local institutions with an effective tool for quality training.

PISM is currently offering the 16 Modules with topics on: Module 1: Understanding the Corporate Environment; Module 2: Specifying Requirements & Planning and Supply; Module 3: Analysing Supply Markets; Module 4: Developing Supply Strategies; Module 5: Appraising & Short listing Suppliers; Module 6: Obtaining & Selecting Offers; Module 7: Negotiating; Module 8: Preparing the Contract; Module 9: Managing the Supply Contract & Supplier Relationships; Module 10: Managing International Logistics; Module 11: Managing Inventory; Module 12: Measuring and Evaluating Purchasing Performance; Module 13: Environmental Green Purchasing; Module 14: Group Purchasing; Module 15: E-Procurement, and Module 16: Customer Relationship Management. www.intracen.org

Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply

PISM, in 2006, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), the world’s largest organization of supply chain professionals.

On December 2006, a week-long training of trainors was conducted by CIPS consultant to  PISM consultants/trainors  for them to be accredited as trainors for its modular learning system here in the Philippines thru PISM.
CIPS is an international organization based in the UK, serving the purchasing and supply profession. It gained Royal Charter status in 1992. The largest organization of its kind in the world, it is a central reference point on matters relating to purchasing and supply chain management.

CIPS offers qualification opportunities for all levels, namely: International Certificate, International Advanced Certificate, Foundation Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. www.cips.org
