Research & Development Program
The research and development program will build SOFSM's knowledge base and will provide direction to its training and technical assistance programs. In addition, various research output such as the Purchasing Manager's Index will aim to provide accurate, reliable and timely reports on economic activities initially in Metro Manila and eventually nationwide.
Scholarship & Education Program
This is SOFSM's core and largest program, covering the following activities:
- Ably supported by the Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PISM), it offers the most comprehensive education and training programs with course offerings from basic to advanced courses in purchasing, demand and replenishment management, customer service and logistics operation. Review courses are also offered in preparation for the certification examination, i.e. Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Development of comprehensive supply management curricula
- Partnership with schools and universities that will offer the courses
- Scholarship grants administration
- High school orientations re: supply management academic programs and career opportunities
- Job placements for new graduates (scholars) in PISM member companies
Professional Development & Recognition Program
In line with producing globally competitive practitioners, SOFSM's professional development program will:
- Identify Global leading edge Supply Management program and send key practitioners who will share the learning, actively participate in the development of the Supply Management profession in the country
- Conduct various training activities to develop Supply Management trainers and consultants
- Lead the Gawad Sinop awards process of PISM in order to recognize excellent supply management practices and practitioners
- Offer professional services to address the needs of both private and public sectors in identifying Supply Management enhancement opportunities. SOFSM has a pool of consultants composed of former and active senior executives from the top Philippine and known international corporations. They are acknowledged resource persons in the field of Supply Chain Management.
Information & Advocacy Program
Towards the realization of SOFSM's vision and mission, the information and advocacy program contributes in the following ways:
- Awareness-raising about the transformative role of supply management among practitioners and non-practitioners alike.
- Marketing and public relations
- Participate in activities/events to raise the profile of the Supply Management profession such as the GP3 Conference, Government procurement processes (Procurement Watch)
Membership & Accreditation Program
- Recruitment and development of members
- Conferment of professional titles to qualified Supply Management practitioners such as Diplomate in Supply Management (DSM), Fellow in Supply Management (FSM) and Associate Fellows in Supply Management (AFSM).
Membership Categories
Members of the Society of Fellows who have been conferred the title of Diplomate in Supply Management (DSM); Fellow in Supply Management (FSM); and Associate Fellow in Supply Management (AFSM).
Individual of any professional discipline, members of the business community and/or the academe, who believe in the Mission and Vision of SOFSM and who are willing, competent and able to participate in the programs, projects and activities of the Foundation.
Individuals or entities who believe in the Mission and Vision of SOFSM; have rendered exemplenary service and made major accomplishments (in the field of Supply Management: Purchasing, Demand and Replenishment, Logistics Operations, and Customer Service and/or magnanimously supported the programs, projects and activities of the Foundation by the way of generous grants or substantial donations (cash or in-kind).
Membership Qualifications
- Individuals or professionals who are at least 18 years of age, of good moral character and who have not been convicted of any crime.
- Either an n enthusiast or practitioner of any or all of the four (4) pillars of Supply Management: Purchasing, Demand and Replenishment,Logistics Operations, and Customer Service.
- Willing, competent and able to participate in SOFSM programs, projects and membership activities including the payment of dues and be present during general membership meetings.
