The Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation is recognized globally as the premier purchasing credential for experienced supply professionals. The program is designed for experienced supply managers and focuses on managerial and leadership skills plus a variety of specialized functions designed to enhance the effectiveness of supply managers within their organization.

In addition to purchasing, the C.P.M. exam also covers negotiation, value enhancement strategies, the supply environment and up-to-date management techniques.

Requirements:

Applicants for C.P.M. certification must have five years of full-time professional purchasing and supply management experience or have a four year degree course from an accredited institution and three years of full-time professional purchasing and supply management experience.


Exam Preparations

Effective exam preparations can make a significant impact upon a candidate's testing results. Because backgrounds vary significantly, PISM offers a review program lecturing on four (4) modules. Reference materials which support the content of the exam are also distributed during the review program.


Registering for Exam

You may register for your C.P.M. exam thru PISM and contact the PISM Secretariat. Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation and details on the schedule and venue of the examination.


Examination

The C.P.M. is an occupational certification test, designed to determine whether a candidate is qualified to attain the designation of C.P.M. Exam specifications are based on a periodically updated cross-sector job analysis. This process results in the exam being applicable to multiple sectors of supply management. There are four (4) modules you must passed to receive the C.P.M. designation. These are:

Module 2: Supply Environment
Module 3: Value Enhancement Strategies
Module 4: Management


Applying for Certification
After the successful completion of all four (4) C.P.M. exam modules, candidates may apply for C.P.M. Original Certification. Application for Lifetime Certification is also available.
